Richland County History >>
A well designed, well maintained transportation system is essential for both public safety and to support commerce and economic development.
Helps to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and work follows the design specified in contract documents.
No other area of public works expose communities more to regulatory oversight and potential litigation than environmental issues.
KEM has provided civil engineering services for energy sector clients ranging from Wind Farms to Marcellius and Utica shale for the Oil and Gas Industry.
KEM utilizes existing topography to help balance the site, saving valuable time and money during construction.
Due to increased regulation by Ohio EPA, storm water construction site erosion control has become a very important aspect of construction activities in Ohio. The Staff at KEM has extensive experience with Ohio EPA and is well versed with stormwater permitting requirements.
Any construction that disturbs one or more acres of land is required to be in compliance with Ohio EPA's Construction Site Storm Water General Permit. This permit requires that a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) is prepared and erosion control inspections completed weekly and after every 0.5-inch or larger rainfall. NPDES Phase I and II communities as well as ODOT are required to develop storm water regulations to comply with this permit.
