K.E. McCartney and Associates, Inc. has always strived to be a positive, contributing member of the communities we work in. While KEM continually upgrades equipment and trains personnel to reflect state-of-the-art in civil engineering disciplines, we also remain at the forefront in community service. KEM contributes a generous amount of time and money to a host of service organizations and works to protect the environment through sensitive design concepts. KEM is committed to helping make this world a better place to raise our most precious commodity, our children.

Why Select KEM

Experience
Since 1978 KEM has gained a wealth of knowledge with regards to civil engineering services, from design through project close out. The staff at KEM has an average 20 years experience with the development and construction of infrastructure improvement projects including: studies, design, on-site construction observation, testings of materials, contract administration and start-up services. This experience, encompassing all facets of design and construction, ensures the attention to detail necessary for a successful project.

Quality
KEM has established a quality-assurance program to ensure that we provide the most accurate plans possible. A peer of the same discipline completes the initial plan review. Senior managers complete the secondary reviews and finally KEM construction personnel complete a constructibility review. This benefits the owner in both the quality of the construction project and cost containment practices. In addition, all of our design personnel have on-site experience with construction projects through previous work as inspectors or periodic construction observation. This construction experience is reflected in our plans and helps to ensure constructibility of every KEM project.

Equipment & Facilities
The staff at KEM are supported by a networked computer system equipped with the latest Accounting, Surveying and Engineering Design software available including: WaterCAD, Sewer CADD, Eagle Point, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GEOPak, and Ajera to name a few. KEM survey crews are versed with GPS and data collection equipment. In addition, KEM has the ability to submit projects in electronic format, via high speed DSL internet connection, if required.

Communication
KEM Project Managers have weekly update meetings with the design team and submit monthly status reports indicating services completed over the past month and what is anticipated for the coming month along with any areas of concern to be addressed. This along with early coordination and extensive communication makes the plan preparation process efficient and results in a set of plans that reflects the intent of the designer and owner.
