Brian P. McCartney, P.E., P.S.

Expertise:
Mr. McCartney has been President of KEM since 1994 during which time the firm has realized a steady and healthy growth of both revenues and personnel. Brian believes strongly that to stay competitive in the consulting industry takes a commitment to constantly reinvest. This commitment is illustrated through KEM's state of the art office complex and technical support equipment. Our goal is to treat every client with the respect they deserve and provide them with the quality product they demand.
Brian began his career as a member of the KEM survey crew in 1983 and held many positions with the company from field survey to design. By working through the company from the ground up Brian gained a wealth of knowledge with regards to the plan preparation process and what it takes to keep a project on schedule and within budget. As President, Brian takes full responsibility for all KEM projects - "my father's name is attached to every job we do, and I take that responsibility very seriously."

Wayne C. Bishop, P.E.

Expertise:
Mr. Bishop has worked in the field of water/wastewater and drainage design since 1979. Wayne's duties and responsibilities include project management, the preparation of technical cost proposals, engineering reports, feasibility studies, construction plans, and contract document specifications. Wayne's background also includes drainage analysis and design, surveying, inspection, grant application work, assessment development, easement acquisition, storm sewer design, public hearings and construction management services.

Richard K. Greenwood, P.E.,
Project Manager, Water/Wastewater Treatment Design

Registration: Professional Engineer, State of Ohio
Expertise:
Mr. Greenwood has worked in the field of water/wastewater design and construction management since 1980. Mr. Greenwood's experience with taking projects from preliminary design through completion of construction provides him the background to prepare project plans and specifications that incorporate cost effectiveness, constructability and ease of maintenance into the final product. Mr. Greenwood has extensive experience with water treatment plants, water supply wells, water transmission lines, water storage tanks, booster stations, wastewater treatment plants, sanitary sewers, sanitary pump stations and forcemains.
Mr. Greenwood's responsibilities at KEM include: all facets of water/wastewater infrastructure and treatment design, preparation of engineering reports, construction plans and specifications, construction administration, cost estimates and regulatory agency submittals.

Mark W. Rufener, P.E., CPESC, CPSWQ
Project Engineer

Registration: Professional Engineer, State of Ohio
Certifications: Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) and Certified Professional in Storm Water Quality (CPSWQ)
Expertise:
Mr. Rufener's experience encompasses Storm Water Management including hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, erosion control and storm water quality; Water and Wastewater Infrastructure including sanitary sewer collection systems, water distribution systems, water and wastewater treatment plant rehabilitation and inflow and infiltration reduction; Roadway design and Construction Administration/Observation. By taking projects from preliminary design through construction, Mr. Rufener has gained broad knowledge of the entire design and construction process. Mr. Rufener's responsibilities at KEM include: development of all project phases including, project contracts, preliminary design, construction plan preparation, cost estimates, project coordination and construction administration/observation.

Jotika Shetty

Expertise:
Ms. Shetty's responsibilities at KEM include permit coordination with the United States Army Corps of Engineers and Ohio EPA; Environmental coordination with the Ohio Department of Transportation including completing necessary environmental documentation on transportation projects; sub- consultant coordination for environmental services and development of grant and project funding applications. Jotika has also prepared subdivision layouts and obtained extensive training in Arc GIS which KEM utilizes to develop detailed GIS utility mapping for clients.

Mike Kissel

Associate Degree in Drafting & Design Technology, 1992 North Central State College, Ohio
Expertise:
Mr. Kissel has extensive experience including field instrument downloading and layout of existing topography from field data and aerial photography. Layout of proposed sewers including force mains, laterals, lift stations and all details, construction staking and layout. Layout of surface modeling, as-built plans, existing and proposed plan profiles and cross-sections. Additional duties include managing the computer network, hardware, software and data storage.

Expertise:
Mr. Owens' experience as a Cadd Technician includes the use of drafting and engineering software for right of way plan design and boundary surveys. Chad is also responsible for the preparation of annexation plats, ALTA surveys, easement plats, and topographic surveys.
In addition Chad's duties include work in the following areas: Base mapping, Highway plan production, Plan and profiles, Cross sections, Traffic control, General notes, Signing/pavement marking, Storm water pollution prevention, Drainage, Lighting, Details, Bridge inspection, Surveying.

Mr. Donahue's experience at KEM dates back to 1994 and includes title research, right of way plan design, preparation of boundary surveys and legal descriptions, construction observation and miscellaneous right of way acquisition services. Pat's construction experience includes utility identification, interpreting and enforcing contract documents, equipment inspection, start-up and recording daily construction progress, filling out miscellaneous O.D.O.T. inspection forms, all aspects of roadway observation and bridge inspections. Pat is also responsible for the preparation of annexation plats, ALTA surveys, easement plats, legal descriptions, topographic surveys, and field survey staking coordination.
