Holmes County Trail - Phase 2
Location: Millersburg, Ohio
Services: KEM provided construction contract administration and inspection services for the Holmes County Trail- Phase 2 project working with the Holmes County Park District This $1,100,000 Local Let Project included construction of 4.6 miles of shared use horse buggy and bike path trail from Millersburg to Killbuck. The 16' wide asphalt trail followed an abandoned railroad corridor right of way and included rehabilitation of three structures ranging in span from 14 to 55 feet.
KEM conducted the preconstruction meeting, monthly progress meetings, approved material submittals, and informed the Park of project activities. In addition KEM provided daily construction inspection services to ensure compliance with plans and specification and contract requirements. 
Written logs of project activity were reviewed and approved in the field prior to submittal for payment.
The project included a DBE goal of 8% for construction work. KEM monitored subcontractor work efforts and documented compliance with the DBE requirements. KEM also monitored the concrete placement and provided quality assurance testing to verify compliance with specifications.
Because of the combined effort from the Holmes County Park District, Contractor, and KEM this project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
